Installation Instructions for 4-Core High-Density Fiber Distribution Box

Install the 4-core high-density fiber distribution box by securely mounting it, introducing the fiber cables through proper inlets, and carefully routing and splicing fibers while maintaining bend radius and protection.Step 1: Environmental and Technical PreparationEnsure the installation site meets environmental requirements: relative humidity ≤85% at +30°C, temperature range -40°C to +85°C, and atmospheric pressure 70–106 kPa . Verify that the rack or wall location allows sufficient clearance for access and maintenance. Gather all necessary tools, including screwdrivers, cable ties, grommets, and fiber splicing equipment .Step 2: Mounting the Distribution BoxAttach the brackets to both sides of the distribution box. Secure the box to the designated rack or wall location using screws, ensuring it is level and stable. Determine the installation orientation based on cable entry points and accessibility for future maintenance .Step 3: Introducing Fiber CablesFeed the feeder and drop cables through the designated cable inlet holes. Use grommets to protect the cables from sharp edges and to secure them in place. Pre-terminated branch fiber jumpers or pigtails can be used for easier connection . Ensure the cable length inside the box allows the front panel to be fully extended without tension on the fibers.Step 4: Fiber Routing and ManagementRoute fibers along the internal spools or bending radius control clips to prevent sharp bends and maintain the minimum bend radius. Use cable ties to secure fibers at key points, allowing some flexibility for adjustments. The drawer-style or pull-out front panel facilitates high-density wiring and easy access for maintenance .Step 5: Splicing and ConnectionPerform fiber splicing or connector termination according to the network design. Ensure insertion loss is ≤0.2 dB, UPC return loss ≥50 dB, and APC return loss ≥60 dB for optimal performance . Organize spliced fibers neatly within splice trays or modules to prevent entanglement and maintain signal integrity.Step 6: Testing and VerificationAfter installation, test all fiber connections for continuity, signal loss, and proper routing. Address any excessive signal loss or physical issues promptly. Conduct visual inspections periodically to ensure long-term reliability .Step 7: Grounding and ProtectionEnsure the distribution box is properly grounded according to local electrical codes. The grounding device should be isolated from the cabinet, with isolation resistance no less than 2X . Close the box securely to protect fibers from environmental exposure and mechanical damage. By following these steps, the 4-core high-density fiber distribution box will provide reliable fiber management, protection, and connectivity for FTTx or data center applications.
